Parable of the Day: How We Deny God’s Help

There was a man who was late for a very important meeting. He drove to the building where that meeting was held but there were no vacant parking lots left.

“O Lord,” the man begged. “Give me a space to park my car, for I’m late. Please, Lord! I’ll start tithing, I’ll quit smoking, I’ll start going to church regularly. Please give me a place to park my car.”

Then, literally in a moment, another car leaves its parking space.

“Alright, Lord, thank you! I don’t need your help any longer! I can do all by myself…”

The Lord doesn’t force us to believe even when He answers our prayers visibly. He always lets us choose freely.
