Chosen by God for the preservation of the Orthodox faith in the days of persecution on the soil of our Fatherland, we bring praises and singing to you, our blessed Mother Valentina. Daring in prayer, deliver us from evils whether spiritual or bodily, we invoke you with humility:
Rejoice, O Blessed Valentina, who is quick to comfort all who come to you.

Ikos 1

The Creator of all showed you the wonderful Angel of the White Russia, to turn the lost people to the way of repentance and to call them to the service of the Truth. Likewise, we thank God and glorify you as our educator and intercessor, and we cry out with zeal:

Rejoice, O Wondrous Chosen One of the Divine Providence;
Rejoice, star of the beautiful sky of the Church.
Rejoice, the glorious decoration of the Belarusian land;
Rejoice, the sweetest solace of our souls.
Rejoice, for you are sleepless in your intercession for us;
Rejoice, the flame of prayer that never fades.
Rejoice, for you are incessantly praising the Mother of God;
Rejoice, for She has taught you to love all without guile.
Rejoice, O Blessed Valentina, who is quick to comfort all who come to you.

You saw with gladness, O Blessed Mother, the beauty of God’s world, and had love for people, thanking God since childhood for everything with the angelic song: Hallelujah.

Ikos 2

Your Divine mind, O God’s servant Valentina, has sought since your birth to please the Lord with labor, faith, and prayer. While still a child, you planted a spruce that grew into a strong tree in the shape of the cross. Seeing the sign of God’s blessing in your labors, we cry out with praise to you:

Rejoice, the good offshoot of the godly root;
Rejoice, for your sisters were of a silent disposition.
Rejoice, for your father’s priestly prayers confirmed you in the faith;
Rejoice, for your mother instructed you in love for God, the saints and fellow humans.
Rejoice, for you tasted the sweetness of paradise by reading the Word of God;
Rejoice, for you were giving tenderness and devotion to her kindred generously.
Rejoice, for you meekly fulfilled the commandment of obedience to parents;
Rejoice, for you call us to obey the commandments of God.
Rejoice, O Blessed Valentina, who is quick to comfort all who come to you.

Kontakion 3

By the power of the Almighty, on your journey with your parent to Kronstadt, Saint Panteleimon appeared and said, “Pray unceasingly!” You immediately lifted up your pure child’s prayer to God, and the ship was delivered from sinking, while men glorified the Creator and the Savior with gratitude: Hallelujah.

Ikos 3

Zealous for the Lord, you, O Blessed One, came to the shepherd of Kronstadt who, seeing you as God’s chosen vessel, blessed you, the good handmaid, and spoke with you. Seeing your spiritual ascent from power into power, we call upon you with awe:

Rejoice, for you were nourished by priests since your childhood;
Rejoice, for you were honored by honorable priests.
Rejoice, for you loved prayer since your youth;
Rejoice, for you worked for the Lord incessantly.
Rejoice, for you corrected the idle and neglectful;
Rejoice, for you motivated people to work for God’s sake.
Rejoice, for you received the gift of healing from Christ;
Rejoice, for you glorified God with your miracles.
Rejoice, O Blessed Valentina, who is quick to comfort all who come to you.

Kontakion 4

Having eschewed the storm of passions, O Blessed Valentina, and having received the blessing from God and your honorable parents, you built the home church of your pious family with love and humility, setting an example to all of a virtuous and meek wife, helping your husband and singing to God: Hallelujah.

Ikos 4

Knowing of the Christlike living of the God-bearing and great Fathers, you faced the pitiful earthly fate – the loss of your relatives and your good husband. The Lord did not grant you children but you acquired numerous spiritual children by God’s providence, who cry to you, their spiritual mother, fervently:

Rejoice, O teacher of piety;
Rejoice, the revealer of hidden transgressions.
Rejoice, o patron of families with many children;
Rejoice, the humbler of arrogant wives.
Rejoice, the rescuer of pregnant women from the sin;
Rejoice, the keeper of babies in their mother’s womb.
Rejoice, for you soothe the wrath of God with your prayers;
Rejoice, for you direct our minds and hearts to the Heaven.
Rejoice, O Blessed Valentina, who is quick to comfort all who come to you.

Kontakion 5

You became like the Godward-pointing star, Mother Valentina: you imitated the feat of Blessed Xenia and was rewarded with the bliss of the paradise for your great humility and endurance of sorrows. Now you sing praise in the choir of saints: Hallelujah.

Ikos 5

Seeing you like an Angel of God who loved the Beatitudes of the Gospel with all your heart, people visited you who was unable to walk and sought your prayers. You did not cast away those who came to you, following the word of Christ, but ardently sought the salvation of people. Teach us to praise the Lord pureheartedly, for we call unto you:

Rejoice, for you hid your holiness with parables;
Rejoice, for you clearly answered questions never asked.
Rejoice, for you gently reproached the greedy and the avaricious;
Rejoice, for you propped the faithful in doing good.
Rejoice, for you braided flowers and belts with prayer;
Rejoice, for you gave them to all visitors;
Rejoice, for you are honored on the same day as Blessed Xenia;
Rejoice, for you and Saint Matrona put God’s enemies to shame.
Rejoice, O Blessed Valentina, who is quick to comfort all who come to you.

Kontakion 6

Preacher of the Christian faith and piety, O Righteous Valentina, you did not fear the anti-religious tempest but carried out the feat of a confessor, strengthening the souls of many who were sorrowful and dwelt in the gloom of despair, singing unto the Lord: Hallelujah.

Ikos 6

You shone forth celestial light through your frail flesh, Saint Valentina, when you followed Christ with your wisest foolishness-for-Christ, perseverance, and suffering. Therefore, the Lord revealed you as a source of grace to the sufferers, when the temples of the Minsk land were desolate. We who are called extol you thus:

Rejoice, for you revealed the power of God through your human weakness;
Rejoice, for you worked for the salvation of the Belarusian people.
Rejoice, for you never took money for healing;
Rejoice, for you saw the Lord with your pure heart.
Rejoice, for you trampled the persecution for the Truth with your feat of foolishness-for-Christ;
Rejoice, for you showed yourself as a summit of monasticism in a life of a lay person.
Rejoice, for you entrusted yourself in the will of God;
Rejoice, for you reveal the Lord’s will to others.
Rejoice, O Blessed Valentina, who is quick to comfort all who come to you.

Kontakion 7

Wishing to pour out grace onto our country and to set an example to those who wish to get saved, the all-loving Lord led you by the Holy Spirit to a very doleful and God-pleasing life, with which you amazed not only people on earth but even Angels in heaven. You carried the burdens of others every day without grudges. Soothe our souls with love so that we would sing to God with you: Hallelujah.

Ikos 7

Seeing you as the new chosen one by God, presbyters of the Church were coming to you from afar and found in you a treasure of wisdom and divine revelations. Enlighten also us who cry out to you, confident of your graceful assistance:

Rejoice, O honorable glory of the Church;
Rejoice, the joy of the Guardian Angel.
Rejoice, for you wisely assist those who work for the Lord;
Rejoice, for you taught singers to praise the Lord in purity.
Rejoice, for you continually help the builders of God’s temples;
Rejoice, for you deliver us from vanity and passions by your prayers.
Rejoice, for you send useful thoughts in the hour of grief and hesitation;
Rejoice, for you protect those who pray to you from afflictions.
Rejoice, O Blessed Valentina, who is quick to comfort all who come to you.

Kontakion 8

We are sojourners on earth, and the enemy keeps tempting us so as to prevent us from reaching our Heavenly Homeland. Help us, cleanse us from all kinds of filth, so that our paths be straight, and so that the Judge would not put us to shame at his fair and terrible Trial. Pray for us, O all-blessed Valentina, and we will rejoice with you: Hallelujah.

Ikos 8

You dwelt with the Lord with all your thoughts but you also brought your adoration to the Merciful Mother, the Queen of Heaven, teaching all to read akathist hymns before Her icons. Therefore we call unto you, the warm intercessor for us to the Most Blessed Lady, O Blessed Valentina:

Rejoice, for you sang the glory of the Virgin every day;
Rejoice, for you venerated wonder-working icon of the Most Pure One.
Rejoice, for you piously decorated your home with the Akhtyrskaya icon;
Rejoice, for you endured being confined to bed for thirty years thanks to the prayers of the Mother of God.
Rejoice, for you were comforted in your illness by Angels’ wings;
Rejoice, for you were deemed worthy of a heavenly visit on earth.
Rejoice, for you shone with Angel-like purity in your bed;
Rejoice, for you helped the sick with inexhaustible patience.
Rejoice, O Blessed Valentina, who is quick to comfort all who come to you.

Kontakion 9

The angelic armies on high were stricken with awe, beholding your wondrous feat of staying in bed: you never let anyone leave you empty-handed and without consolation when you lay in your bed as if standing on a tall pillar, soaring into the Heaven with your spirit, prophesying of the Spirit and granting healings by the power of God. We are amazed at your life and sing to the Almighty God: Hallelujah.

Ikos 9

Orators find it impossible to describe the power of your love, O Blessed Valentina, with their many and eloquent words; for you appeared as a loving mother to all sorrowful people in the difficult time of war. You prayed for our troops, asking the Lord for help and protection. Now beseech Him to keep nations in peace and fill our hearts with love, so that we would cry out to you with gratitude:

Rejoice, for you foresaw the life and death of soldiers who defended us;
Rejoice, for you urge us to pray fervently for our deceased relatives.
Rejoice, for you instill the peace of Christ into souls that lack faith;
Rejoice, for you teach us to value the breath of life.
Rejoice, for you showed your love of the earthly Homeland;
Rejoice, for you made everyone marvel at the greatness of your deeds.
Rejoice, for you preached the faith of the apostles;
Rejoice, for you acquired the Kingdom by your mercy.
Rejoice, O Blessed Valentina, who is quick to comfort all who come to you.

Kontakion 10

Wishing to get rescued from diverse afflictions of this world, we call unto you, O Righteous Valentina, our powerful intercessor before God: be our invincible defense from the visible and invisible foes, and our helper in needs and sorrows. Deliver us by your intercession from horrible troubles and temptations, so that we would praise God with a victorious hymn: Hallelujah.

Ikos 10

You were a firm wall for all in the days of your life, O Blessed Valentina. Therefore, your grave is a spiritual shelter to all who aspire consolation in this world of sorrow. Knowing you as a graceful healer, we now come to your holy grave, and, receiving gratuitous healing of our souls and bodies, give thankful singing to you:

Rejoice, for you shine bright with rays of your glorious miracles;
Rejoice, for you marvelously open the eyes of the blind.
Rejoice, for you give sound reasoning to those who are inarticulate;
Rejoice, for you deliver the demon-possessed.
Rejoice, for you heal all terrible illnesses;
Rejoice, for you teach our children chastity.
Rejoice, for you soften hardened hearts;
Rejoice, for you release us from the enemy’s nets.
Rejoice, O Blessed Valentina, who is quick to comfort all who come to you.

Kontakion 11

We extol you with the akathist hymn as our teacher, and celebrate your holy memory. Hearken mercifully to our little prayer so that the Lord Jesus Christ would count us among the wise maidens, who sing unto him joyfully: Hallelujah.

O spiritual lantern filled with the oil of grace and set on a lampstand, Holy Valentina, may the Name of the Lord be praised through you! Illuminate the road to salvation for us, reinforce our faith and hope, and petition God to grant us reason and piety, so that we could call unto you with love:

Rejoice, an example of true humility;
Rejoice, a mirror of self-denial.
Rejoice, for you soared into the Heaven chanting Psalms;
Rejoice, for you gave Paschal joy to all when you were canonized.
Rejoice, for you did not fear temporary suffering;
Rejoice, for you strengthened those who were exhausted by struggle.
Rejoice, for you washed your soul with the dew of the Spirit;
Rejoice, for you tended to the spiritual flower garden.
Rejoice, O Blessed Valentina, who is quick to comfort all who come to you.

O Blessed Valentina, ask God to send the grace of the Holy Spirit unto us so that we, nurtured by the love of Christ, could walk in the light of God’s commandments and be the children of the one Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church, keeping pure faith and singing to God with one heart and one mouth: Hallelujah.

Ikos 12

As we hail your numerous good deeds and suffering, we cherish your unfathomable perseverance, O Mother Valentina. Honoring your holy memory, we pray unto you: bolster the spirit of Orthodox people and grant perfect victory of the light of knowing God over the darkness of atheism, and accept our praises:

Rejoice, for you teach us to stand firm in the Orthodox faith;
Rejoice, for you eradicate schism and superstitions.
Rejoice, for you warm up our souls with the warmth of the Divine Love;
Rejoice, for you instruct us to get saved by the Name of Jesus.
Rejoice, for you heal our souls and bodies with grace;
Rejoice, for you pray to the Lord for those who praise you.
Rejoice, for you abundantly reward those who are zealous in processions with the cross;
Rejoice, for you delight the hearts of the faithful with hope for salvation.

O wondrous and most glorious God’s handmaid, our blessed mother Valentina, who shone in the White Russia like a spiritual sun! Accept our grateful prayer and, as you are standing before the Throne of our Lord Jesus Christ now, implore him to grant us physical health and most importantly, the salvation of our souls so that we would sing unto him on the Day of Judgment: Hallelujah.
